  1. 60 days before renewal

    Gather

    • Locate your current declarations page.
    • List household changes since the last term.
    • Confirm your insurer has your current mailing and email address.

  2. 45 days before renewal

    Review

    • Read your current coverages, limits, and deductibles.
    • Check that every listed driver and vehicle is still accurate.
    • Note questions for your insurer or agent.

  3. 30 days before renewal

    Compare

    • Read the renewal notice when it arrives.
    • Compare it with your current declarations page line by line.
    • Look for any changed terms or endorsements.

  4. 14 days before renewal

    Confirm

    • Contact your insurer directly with any open questions.
    • Confirm the payment method and due date.
    • Set up any changes you decided on with your insurer.

  5. Renewal day

    File

    • Save the new declarations page and ID cards.
    • Replace the proof of insurance in each vehicle.
    • Add the next renewal date to your household calendar.
